A leading television production company in Cornwall is celebrating its first year of trading by announcing a new joint venture with the Extreme Sports Channel.

Chilli Media, based at Heamoor near Penzance, has joined forces with the channel to co-produce a new television programme called gen://ex.

It will be broadcast to over 50 countries in eight languages.

The show features sports such as snowboarding, mountain biking, skateboarding and windsurfing and the extreme sports lifestyle.

The company, which concentrates on youth and lifestyle, was originally based in the south east, but relocated to Cornwall following a management buyout.

"We had a hard year after the management buyout, so we are really pleased to announce this new venture," said Dan Atkins, the company's managing director.

Chilli Media approached the South West Investment Group and obtained an interest-free loan of 25,000 to help the company buy essential equipment.

"Thanks to help from the South West Investment Group, establishing Chilli in Cornwall has been cost effective and beneficial to the business," said Mr Atkins.

"With forward sales now approaching 500,000, we are really excited about our future here in Cornwall."
