New lifeboat to be named
Atlantic 75
The Atlantic 75 lifeboat will be called Paul Alexander

A new Cornish lifeboat will be officially named at a ceremony in Cornwall on Saturday.

The Penlee inshore vessel has been donated to the RNLI by a family from Sussex in memory of a relative.

The new Atlantic 75, to be called Paul Alexander, cost 85,000.

The money has been given by members of Paul's family in his memory.

Short service

During Saturday's ceremony, the lifeboat will be handed over by his stepfather and his brother to the deputy chairman of the RNLI, John James.

There will be a short service of dedication before both Penlee lifeboats are launched.

The bigger Severn class boat, the Ivan Ellen, is also new.

It arrived at Newlyn in March.

The ceremony follows Friday's visit by the Duke of Kent to two local lifeboat stations.

The Duke, who is the president of the RNLI, met crews at St Mary's on the Isles of Scilly and at Sennen Cove.
