Surf bus is a capital idea
Newquay
The Big Friday bus heads to Cornwall on a Friday evening
Two female surfers have launched a new service to transport stressed out Londoners to Cornwall for surfing weekends.

Big Friday is the brainchild of Rhona Gardiner and Kate Czuczman - their Surf Bus leaves Hammersmith at 1730 BST every Friday evening and heads down to Newquay.

Accommodation is provided at a variety of places in and around Newquay and surfing lessons and other adrenalin-pumping activities are arranged at local surf schools and adventure providers.

Suitably relaxed passengers climb aboard the bus on Sunday evening for the return trip to the capital.

All of our clients thus far have loved everything we've organised for them

The team also recommends top quality bars and restaurants and the best shops for their clients to visit during their weekend stay.

The business, which was set up with the help of the South West Investment Group, is hoping to bring a continual flow of weekenders to Newquay and bring additional income to several other local businesses as a direct result.

Big Friday, which was set up with the help of the South West Investment Group, is about to hit its 100th booking.

"It's still very early days for us but we're meeting an undeniable demand for Londoners who want to get out of the city and make the most of their precious weekend time," said Ms Gardiner.
