Gulf flyer's body found
RNAS culdrose
Seven crew members from RNAS Culdrose were killed
A minesweeper has recovered the final body missing since two helicopters from RNAS Culdrose collided over the Gulf 10 weeks ago.

The remains of 26-year-old Lieutenant Marc Lawrence will now be flown home.

Seven crew members died when two Sea Kings collided five miles out from Ark Royal on 22 March.

The helicopters from 849 Squadron were involved in airborne early warning operations.

One was returning from duty, the other was departing from the aircraft carrier.

Lieutenant Lawrence came from Kent, but was planning to get married next year and make his home in Cornwall.

His family have been informed and his parents have expressed their sense of relief that his body has now been found.

Captain Mike Knowles, commanding officer at RNAS Culdrose, said: "Our thoughts remain with Lieutenant Lawrence's family and fiancee at this distressing time.

"I hope that this news will help bring an end to their anguish and uncertainty."
