Sex slaves freed from brothels in Cambridgeshire were regularly beaten by criminal bosses, police have revealed. Police working to break sex slave trafficking in the county have opened the Operation Radium files to highlight the extent of the victims' suffering.
Detailed personal accounts come from three Eastern European women rescued by police from brothels.
The women were locked in brothels after being lured to the UK with promises of legal work.
One victim was subjected to such a beating her arm was broken, but even then her captors banned her from getting medical attention.

Another was forced to have unprotected sex with up to 25 clients a day.
She was threatened with a samurai sword by security guards at the brothel, who warned her not to attempt to escape as the premises were protected by security cameras.
A third woman told of a colleague whose back was broken in a beating.
The women are among six victims of sex slave trafficking who have been rescued by police since Operation Radium was launched in June. Police have arrested 20 people in connection with the raids.
Det Ch Insp Paul Fullwood, head of the force's serious and organised crime unit, said: "In some ways I wish others might see - like members of our team have - just what these girls have been reduced to.
"But the tragic truth is that they have been so traumatised by their experiences that they now shun any public exposure. It will take many years for some to recover - others may never do so."
Detectives are attempting to find and rescue other women who are being forced to work in about 100 brothels in Cambridgeshire.
The victims, some as young as 16, were forced to work 14 hour shifts at one brothel with sexual services priced at 100 an hour.
One of the victims told how she took between 12,000 and 15,000 in three months, but was only ever given 10.
"Even the smallest piece of information may help us save others and break the activities of the gangs who control this sordid and heartbreaking trade," Det Ch Insp Fullwood said.
