The head teacher of a successful school has been found dead at home a day before an Ofsted inspection. The man in his 50s had been head of the school in Peterborough since it opened several years ago but had been off work suffering from stress.
Parents of the school pupils were told a staff member had been found dead and to collect children at lunchtime.
A police spokesman said: "It's no longer a police matter. It is a sudden death and in the hands of the coroner."
A spokesman for the education authority, Peterborough City Council, said: "Parents were told a teacher had died at home and they were asked to take the children home at lunchtime.
"The member of staff had already been off work with stress."
