The dispersal order follows complaints from residents |
Groups of people are being banned from congregating outside a popular tourist attraction in Cambridgeshire. The dispersal order outside Ely Cathedral follows a number of complaints from residents about people drinking alcohol.
Cambridgeshire Police Insp Adam Gallop said: "These groups are intimidating visitors and residents."
The order is designed to curb anti-social behaviour and will come into effect on Wednesday.
The order was secured by Cambridgeshire Police working with East Cambridgeshire Community Safety Partnership.
