A road safety campaigner has criticised magistrates who imposed a three-week ban on a police helicopter pilot who drove at 118mph in a 70mph zone. Brigitte Chaudhry, of RoadPeace, said the punishment given to Cambs police pilot David Crisall was "inadequate".
"He should have been banned for at least six months and police should stop employing him," she said.
Mr Crisall told Huntingdon magistrates on Friday losing his licence for a prolonged period would cost his job.

Mrs Chaudry said: "The sentence is totally inadequate. The magistrates are clearly unaware of the dangers of speeding or don't care about it.
"I would have thought he should have got a six-month ban at least. They have the power to ban for three years.
"The police should immediately dismiss him. He is certainly no credit to them."
Cambs Police said 38-year-old Mr Crisall's position was being assessed after the 21-day ban and a �400 fine.
A spokeswoman said: "If a member of staff employed by the Police Authority is convicted of any criminal offence, the circumstances are reviewed to assess whether there is a need for internal misconduct proceedings.
"This assessment will be carried out by the constabulary's Professional Standards department."
