Thieves made off with a cash machine after ram-raiding a Peterborough store in the early hours of Sunday. Cambridgeshire Police said witnesses reported seeing a red Honda Accord reverse into the Cost Cutter shop on Paston Lane at about 0400 BST.
Four men in dark clothing then loaded a cash machine from the store into the back of another vehicle.
One of the raiders was described as black while the other three all covered their faces with balaclavas.
Witnesses said the man not wearing a balaclava was in his late 20s to early 30s, of medium build, and unshaven. He was wearing a long sleeved hooded top.
All the men were said to be about 6ft tall.
