Council considers city drink ban
Residents in Peterborough are being asked if they would support a ban on drinking alcohol in parts of the city.

The council is looking at ways to tackle the problem of drunken and anti-social behaviour.

One solution is to create a designated area where alcohol cannot be consumed in public unless it is at a pub or bar.

The order could affect Burghley Road, Lincoln Road, Manor House Street, Church Walk, St Marks Street, St Marks Court and Towler Street.

Anyone found breaking the order can have their alcohol confiscated or could be arrested and fined up to 500 if convicted.

Residents are encouraged to give their views by writing to the council.
