Exam pressures cause problems at home for children |
Pressure to succeed in examinations is putting children under too much stress, according to new research. A study from the Centre for Family Research at Cambridge University says 66% of parents believe their child is more stressed than they should be.
The Soothing Family Life report claims stress at school can also cause problems at home.
This pressure makes the stress at school even worse and can cause a dangerous spiral.
The findings show the worst thing a parent can do is put children through "practice runs" of exam subjects.
Nearly all the boys questioned felt this piled on the pressure.
Researchers questioned 5,000 families across the UK in the survey for the report.
