Snow helps police catch suspects

Footprints in the snow
Police recovered a computer and a mobile phone after following the tracks

The snow has helped police to catch two suspected car thieves near Bristol after following footprints in the snow.

Officers were called to reports of cars being broken into in the Braemar Avenue area in South Gloucestershire just after midnight on Wednesday.

They followed footprints and bicycle tracks in the snow and found a laptop computer, satellite navigation system and mobile phone in a nearby garden.

Two boys, aged 13 and 15, were arrested and remain in police custody.
