Parent-governor Alison Streatfeild-James on the missing pupil A Bristol public school has confirmed one of its pupils was a passenger on the Air France plane that disappeared over the Atlantic. The flight bound for Paris left Brazil's Rio de Janeiro on Sunday evening. It is believed to have flown into a storm. Clifton College Preparatory School said Alexander Bjoroy, 11, was returning from Brazil after half-term break. Headmaster John Milne said he was a "well-liked and respected boarder". He said in a statement the boy "will be sorely missed". Rescuers are continuing to search the waters in the Atlantic ocean for the plane which disappeared on Monday. Mr Milne said: "Our deepest sympathies and condolences are with the family in Brazil at this time." A special phone line has been set up for relatives and friends of those who were on the plane.
