The plan includes better access to the riverside |
Cadbury has unveiled plans for its Somerdale plant site in Keynsham, which is due to close next year. The confectionary firm is setting out possible uses for the site ahead of its closure when production is moved to Poland. Suggestions include housing and new leisure and community facilities including better riverside access. The plan will now be put forward for stakeholders, including Bath and North East Somerset Council, to discuss. Once a broad agreement has been met, the company will aim to find a developer who can create a more detailed plan. It hopes to secure planning permission by 2011, in line with the timescale for the closure of the factory. A two-day exhibition of the plans will be held in Keynsham Baptist Church and the Fry Club from Friday.
