Rovers to share with Cheltenham

Memorial Stadium plans
The stadium will be expanded to hold 18,000 people

Bristol Rovers are to play next season's home games in Cheltenham the football club has announced.

At the club's annual general meeting on Monday fans were told the side will be playing at Whaddon Road.

The move will pave the way for redevelopment of Bristol's Memorial Stadium which will begin this summer.

The stadium, which the football club shares with Bristol rugby club, is to be expanded into an 18,000-seat capacity venue.

The plans include a parking zone for residents and provision of transport including a park-and-ride service.
