A self-confessed Facebook addict from Bristol is giving up the social networking site for Lent. Ellie Harrison, 23, said she is counting the days until Easter when she will be able to go online again and find out what her friends have been up.
"I'm definitely addicted to Facebook. It takes over your life. I have the site set as a bookmark. It's really hard not to be tempted to login."
Language student Ms Harrison's "fast" is to raise cash for overseas aid.
She hopes people will sponsor her "Facebook Fast" and give money to the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (Cafod).
The charity works with communities in more than 50 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America, supporting people to find their own solutions to poverty.
