Youngsters' drinks to be tested
Alcohol testing strips are being used by police across Somerset to crackdown on underage drinking over summer.

Officers can test youngsters' drinks with the strip if they suspect it is alcoholic, or contains alcohol, and confiscate it.

Parks and open spaces in particular are being targeted by police.

Insp Mike Ashwin said: "We are not out to spoil anyone's fun, in fact the opposite is true. We want youngsters to be able to go out safely."

Police are also holding a youth disco in Taunton at the weekend in the hope of reducing problems on the town's streets.
