Cash bonus for city's hospitals
Volunteers from the Women's Royal Voluntary Service (WRVS) have raised 200,000 for the United Bristol Healthcare NHS Trust.

A cheque is to be presented to staff at a celebratory tea party for more than 70 volunteers at St Michael's Hospital in Bristol on Tuesday.

The donation has taken 18 months to raise and is to be used to create a "fresher, more welcoming environment".

It will be spent on the Royal Infirmary as well as St Michael's.

Phil Gregory from the trust said: "The work that all our many volunteers do around the hospitals is absolutely excellent and we would like to thank WRVS for this wonderful gift."
