Staff walk out as official sacked
Jerry Hicks
Jerry Hicks was dismissed from his job by managers on Wednesday
Some 400 Rolls Royce workers have walked out of a factory in Bristol as a protest over the sacking of an Amicus union official.

Jerry Hicks was dismissed by managers at the plant on Wednesday over two allegations of misconduct.

On Thursday staff voted unanimously to hold a ballot over industrial action.

Union convenors from other Rolls Royce plants in Britain believe the action taken in Bristol will escalate across the country.
