Bristol's dockyard museum near the ss Great Britain has been listed as a candidate for a major art prize. The Gulbenkian Prize for museums and galleries offers �100,000 for the winner, which will be announced in May.
Others on the list include a new museum dedicated to Roald Dahl, and another which tells the story of Concorde.
Chairman of the judges Lord Winston said: "This year's long list shows how museums and galleries are continuing to innovate and explore the boundaries."
Last year's prize was won by the Big Pit: National Coal Museum, a preserved coal mine in Wales.
