Baby unit appeal reaches 1m mark
Fundraising for the refurbishment of a neonatal unit at Southmead Hospital in Bristol has reached 1m.

The milestone means the Tiny Lives Campaign has three months left to raise the remaining 200,000 for the refit ahead of the re-opening in March.

Babies have been temporarily moved to a nearby post-natal ward while the building work is carried out.

The Tiny Lives Campaign was set up in 2005 to raise money to modernise the outdated facilities at the hospital.

The new unit will have more space for parents by their baby's cotside and will provide new facilities including additional overnight accommodation and a family quiet room.
