Plastic screens to separate drivers from passengers, known as "cabbie guards" are being installed in a six-week pilot scheme.

Safer Bristol, the city council and the police are funding the guards, which cost around �250 each.

Cab drivers interviewed by BBC Radio Bristol were split on the measure - some praised the safety aspect, others said they would hinder conversation.
