Blue T-shirts aim to beat bullies
Bristol schoolchildren will wear blue T-shirts on Friday as part of the city's campaign to end bullying.

The T-shirts are part of an awareness week which aims to get children involved in tackling bullying and raise awareness of the support available.

"Blue Friday" wristbands will also be worn to promote the week and show commitment to beating the bullies.

A booklet will be given to schools containing anti-bullying guidance and blue balloons will be released.

Cllr Jos Clark, executive member for children's services, said: "We hope the new guidance will help schools deal with any incidents of bullying."

Earlier in the day the city's two football clubs will put on anti-bullying workshops at their respective grounds.

Sixteen pupils from Brislington School will go to Bristol City Football Club and 15 from Embleton Primary School to Bristol Rovers.

One of the outcomes of each workshop is to write an anti-bullying piece for match programmes.
