Town to get new recycling centre
Construction work is due to start on a 400,000 household waste recycling plant in South Gloucestershire.

The purpose-built SORT IT! centre is to be built on the former Dairy Crest site on the Thornbury Industrial Estate.

A council spokeswoman said the aim was to make it easier for people in the town to recycle their household rubbish in an environmentally-friendly way.

"I would encourage everyone to use the centre and reduce the amount of landfill," she said.

The site will be open seven days a week.
