Jerry Hicks was sacked from his job last month |
A planned Rolls-Royce strike in Bristol has been postponed for 24 hours. Staff at the Filton plant are due to walk out in support of Amicus rep Jerry Hicks who was sacked over allegations of misconduct last month.
An employment tribunal has found that Mr Hicks had "probably been dismissed on trade union grounds". A full hearing will take place in six months.
The delay is down to contractual arrangements surrounding night shifts at the plant.
Amicus is demanding Mr Hicks' reinstatement with Rolls-Royce, and about 100 engineering workers are due to walk out.
The strike is due to go ahead from Tuesday 23 August.
