Roger and Carol Skuse at the Port of Call, receiving their certificate
This is the first year the Port of Call has taken the top prize
The Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) has announced the winners of its Bristol pub of the year competition.

Two pubs, the Port of Call in Clifton and the Wellington in Horfield, will share the 2005 title

The competition considers real ale provision as well as atmosphere and the service and welcome received.

This is the first year that Roger and Carol Skuse at the Port of Call have received this award from Camra.

Paul and Dee Tanner at the Wellington were also branch pub of the year in 2004.

The Crown at Churchill was voted runner-up for 2005.
