The car was found burnt-out |
The BMW believed to have been involved in a "pre-planned" shooting in Bristol has been found burnt-out, say police. Two women were shot in the head in St George on Saturday after accepting a lift home from three men.
They were in a silver Saab on Lyndale Road which was fired at by someone who was following them in a BMW. The three from the Saab fled after the shooting.
Detectives say the discovery of a silver BMW left in the Greenbank area, could be a "significant breakthrough".
A 22-year-old woman from Horfield remains in a "life- threatening" condition, while a 25-year-old woman from St Andrews is described as comfortable, although she may lose the sight in one eye

After the shooting, the three men fled the scene, leaving the women in the car. Another man, described as black, then drove the Saab to Trinity Road police station, left it, and ran off in the direction of Old Market.
Members of the public reported a car being left in the Greenbank area at about 0600 BST on Saturday - two hours after the shooting.
The vehicle, which matches the description of the BMW which followed the Saab, was set alight about eight hours later, police say.

A semi-automatic gun used in the crime is still being sought. Det Ch Insp Geoff Spicer said: "We would particularly like to hear from people who saw the car being driven to the area or remember seeing people leaving the car.
"We would also value information of any descriptions people may have of the occupants of the car.
"We do know that the shooting was an isolated incident and it does appear that the two women were innocent victims of what we believe was a premeditated targeting of the men they were travelling with."
A team of about 70 detectives is currently working on the investigation.
