A man has died in a three-vehicle accident on the M4 near Bristol.

A car transporter travelling eastbound collided with another vehicle at 1900 BST just east of junction 18 and then crossed the central reservation.

Police said it hit a car whose driver, a 55-year-old Worcester man, was killed. The M4 was closed on Tuesday between junctions 17 and 18.

The motorway reopened at about 0230 BST on Wednesday. Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash to contact them.

They have not yet released the dead man's name.
