Bristol gets new 'super hospital'
Bristol is to get a new "super hospital", the Strategic Health Authority has announced.

More than 350m will be spent on the hospital, with a further 150m being spent on upgrading the Bristol Royal Infirmary and community hospitals.

The decision means that either Frenchay or Southmead will be downgraded to community hospital status - and would not deal with emergency cases.

A consultation will be launched into the closures.
