Anger over car park 'clamping'
clamped car in parking bay
Motorists returned to their cars to find them clamped
Motorists who parked at an empty building in central Bristol say they have been unfairly clamped and fined.

About 60 vehicles were parking at Tollgate House, just off the M32, since the Department of Transport moved out.

Motorists say they thought they were doing so legally as there were no signs prohibiting parking.

On Friday, those who had left their cars returned to find they had been clamped and attendants were asking for 99 to release them.

One motorist who was caught out, Claire Spearey, says she photographed warning notices which were not there when she parked in the morning and had disappeared the following day.

Another, Tyler Pearson, says he is planning to take legal action against the private firm which is claiming the fines, Southampton-based Security International.

No-one from the firm has been available for comment.
