Special Big Issue after 10 years
Big Issue vendor
The Big Issue has raised nearly 300,000 for vendors in the region
A special edition of The Big Issue is being released to celebrate 10 years of the magazine's South West edition.

The Bath-based publication became the first regional version of the magazine to appear outside London in 1993.

In the ensuing decade, the publication has raised more than 375,000 for vendors.

Staff at the magazine hope to use the anniversary to look at community initiatives to help the homeless.

Greg Claridge, from The Big Issue South West, told the BBC: "It has made a massive difference and given homeless people a chance to prove themselves, become independent in the region and have a say in their life."
