Marriage proposal is 'supersonic'
Concorde
The onboard proposal was a 'complete surprise'
An Englishman proposed to his French girlfriend at 60,000 feet onboard Concorde's final flight.

Laurence Ricoul, a French cabin crew member was working on the supersonic aircraft's final flight from Heathrow to Filton.

Her British boyfriend, Kevin Keniston, who works for Airbus in France, was aboard as a passenger.

As the plane flew over the Bay of Biscay, Mr Keniston pulled his girlfriend aside and asked her to marry him.

"He interrupted my work and said could I go to the middle of the aircraft," she said.

"We were alone, in between the cabins behind curtains.

Wedding location

"It was a complete surprise."

Miss Ricoul accepted and is now the owner of a gold ring with a trilogy of diamonds.

The 35-year-old from Toulon, said she felt "elated and unique".

Miss Ricoul has served on Concorde for four years and was on duty on Wednesday at the front of the plane.

Mr Keniston, 39, originally from Surrey, but now living in Toulouse, said when he proposed they were still "supersonic".

On landing, one of the first to congratulate the pair was Prince Andrew, who said their next step was to come up with an equally fitting wedding location.
