Scandinavian furniture giant IKEA is to hand over 30,000 to help resolve the traffic problems around its store in Eastville, Bristol. The company has already provided 50,000 to help ease problems in the area as part of a planning agreement dating back to 1998.
Studies have shown a general increase in the amount of vehicles in the area around the store.
But it was also noted that the increases were larger than expected when the IKEA outlet was closed.
A council spokesperson said the money from IKEA and additional funds from the authority would be used to try and meet the concerns of local people.
The plan would include reducing "rat runs" in residential areas and improvements to the Eastgate Roundabout, she said.
