A special fire brigade rescue team was called in to save one of two dogs which ran over the edge of a cliff near Bristol. One of the two Lakeland terriers fell to the bottom of the cliff at Aust but the other became trapped on a ledge part of the way down.
Two members of the specialist team made a controlled descent on ropes, put the dog, called Monty, in a bag and then lowered themselves to the foot of the cliff.
The owners, a couple from Plymouth in Devon, were on a walk near their holiday caravan when the dogs disappeared over the edge.

Their other dog, Pippa, which fell to the bottom of the cliff by the river Severn, escaped with cuts and bruises. Both dogs were later checked by a vet.
The rescue operation, by firefighters Jan Morris, Stewart Caie and Andy Pothecary, took about an hour and a half.
Brigade spokesman Mark Webb told BBC News Online: "The owner, Mrs Rose Hamley had been very upset and she and her husband were extremely grateful for what we did."
