Grattan employs a total of 2,200 people in Bradford |
Catalogue firm Freeman Grattan Holdings has confirmed that it is closing its Bradford call centre, putting 800 jobs at risk. The company unveiled "streamlining" plans last month, and said all its 3,800 staff had been told their jobs may be affected. Grattan has centres in Bradford, Sheffield, Peterborough and London. The firm confirmed the move after the first phase of consultations with unions and staff representatives. A spokesman said the call centre would be phased out by September, with work transferred to its remaining call centre in Sheffield. He said no redundancy notices had been issued to call centre staff as further discussions with departments and individuals would continue. It is not yet clear how many staff will be offered the opportunity to transfer to Sheffield.
