Bradford fire clubs meet up again
Fans look on as the fire engulfs the main stand
More than 200 supporters suffered injuries in the disaster
Bradford City and Lincoln City meet in a league match on Friday for the first time since the Valley Parade fire which claimed 56 lives in 1985.

Fans at the game will be asked to give cash to Bradford University's Burns Research Unit, set up after the fire.

Bradford City club secretary Jon Pollard said Friday's match at Sincil Bank would be "an emotional occasion".

Lincoln City chairman Steff Wright said: "That tragic day is still fresh in the minds of all supporters."

As well as 56 deaths, the fire on 11 May 1985 left more than 200 people injured, many with terrible burns.

Mr Pollard, said: "Nobody will ever forget what should have been, for other reasons, a memorable day for Bradford City Football Club in 1985.

"Instead of celebrating promotion, the day will go down in history as one of the most tragic events in the professional game.

"We visit Sincil Bank for the first time in the League on Friday for what is going to be an emotional occasion as we remember those who perished on that fateful day.

"Over the years the club and supporters have donated thousands of pounds for the burns unit and I am sure much more will be raised when the sides meet twice this season."
