Region prepares for Indian Oscars
Amitabh Bachchan
More than 480 million people are expected to watch the awards
One of the biggest stars of Indian cinema is visiting Bradford to welcome the so-called Bollywood Oscars to the Yorkshire region.

Amitabh Bachchan will be at the National Museum of Photography Film and Television on Thursday to celebrate the arrival of the event in June 2007.

Last year's International Indian Film Academy Awards attracted a global audience of around 480 million people.

Organisers believe it will provide a huge boost to the region's economy.

Now in its 8th year, the event has previously been hosted in Amsterdam, Dubai, Singapore, London, Malaysia and South Africa.

Among those attending have been Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Shekhar Kapur and Jean Claude Van Damme.
