An inquest has opened into the death of a woman killed by a runaway car in Bradford. Raqia Begum, 53, was walking with her eight-year-old daughter in Great Horton Road on Wednesday when the driverless Vauxhall Vectra mounted the pavement.
The car travelled for some distance with Mrs Begum trapped underneath, Bradford Coroner's Court was told. The cause of death was a fractured neck.
Assistant deputy coroner James Turnbull released Mrs Begum's body for burial.
West Yorkshire Police are still examining the vehicle, which had earlier been parked outside a shop, the inquest heard.
