Critics say communities will suffer from increased noise levels. |
Residents in a Berkshire town are being urged to give their views on Heathrow Airport's expansion plans. Slough householders will meet to voice their opinions on how the plans, including a third runway and a sixth terminal building, affects them.
The controversial plans will be debated at a public consultation road show at Langley Community Centre later.
The proposed runway in Sipson and Harmondsworth in Hillingdon would include demolishing 700 properties.
Richard Stokes, leader of Slough Borough Council, said the proposals could have a huge impact on Slough.
BAA has argued a third runway could be worth 9bn a year to the national economy but the government has said any expansion must comply with EU limits on noise and air pollution.
