Ascot stand needs to be improved
Ascot's new grandstand
Ascot reopened in June following a 20-month redevelopment
The newly revamped Ascot Racecourse stand will be "improved" after racegoers complained of a poor view.

Changes are to be made to the concourse level of the new grandstand at the historic racecourse, which reopened in June after a 200m refurbishment.

A spokeswoman confirmed visitors - paying up to 85 - said they could not see horses cross the finishing line.

She told the BBC the work would be carried out the next few months but will not affect the race fixtures.

She could not confirm the exact details and costs of the improvements being made, but said the work would be completed in time for the Royal meeting in 2007.

During the 20-month redevelopment, which was completed in time for the 2006 Royal meeting, the track and a golf course were moved and the old stands demolished and replaced.
