Walcott could become the youngest ever England player |
Theo Walcott is a "level-headed" youngster who will cope with pressure of the World Cup, say his family. The striker, 17, who grew up near Newbury in Berkshire, was the shock inclusion in the 23-man England squad.
He received the news of his call-up after completing his driving theory test and immediately called his family.
His grandmother Loretta Walcott said she was delighted when she heard: "I'm very proud of him, he's a wonderful boy, and he lives for football."

The teenager could become England's youngest ever player at 17 years, 75 days, if he plays against Hungary on 30 May.
But Mrs Walcott is sure he will not be affected by the hype now surrounding him.
"He's very level-headed and I think he will cope because his dad is wonderful with him and his mum, they're always with him, advising him what to do and what not to do.
"He comes from a very good family, he's very level-headed so I think he'll cope with the pressure.
