Police cinema ads target youths
A police force is using cinema adverts to target young people as part of its crackdown on violent crime.

The adverts will be shown at seven cinemas across the Thames Valley to get the message of the Safer Streets campaign across to 15 to 35-year-olds.

One highlights the risks of heavy drinking while the second warns of the dangers of carrying imitation firearms.

The adverts are being shown in Slough, Aylesbury, Bracknell, High Wycombe, Maidenhead, Milton Keynes, and Reading.

Assistant Chief Constable Katherine Govier said: "We've got some really tough messages to get across to young people, who can be hard to reach.

"This is why we are using different ways of getting information out to them, and cinema advertising is a good way of doing this."
