Public get say on special school
Classroom
The former secondary school closed in summer 2001
Residents are to be consulted on plans to open a new special needs school on the site of a former secondary school.

Reading Borough Council is launching a public consultation on the future of the old Meadway School grounds in Tilehurst, Reading, Berkshire.

The school closed in 2001 and the site has been earmarked for a special school, plus facilities for special needs pupils from mainstream schools.

The meeting is being held on 15 September at Meadway School.

Peter Jones and Peter Weston, local ward councillors, said: "Hearing people's views before we move forward is absolutely vital to the whole process."

The proposals will also be on display at Meadway Sports Centre until 18 November, with forms for residents to leave their comments.
