Neighbours may sound less noisy with a council programme to fit 450,000 worth of double glazing on a troubled estate. Glaziers are replacing windows at 150 houses and flats on the Dee Park estate in Reading, Berkshire.
Councillors are visiting resident Moira Dickenson, as work begins at her flat in Thurso Close on Thursday.
The work is part of 4.5m of local home improvements by Reading Borough Council, including loft insulation, new boilers and redecoration.

"New windows will make a real difference to quality of life - reducing noise and improving warmth and security."
