Avoiding teenage pregnancies is one of the issues being tackled

The event is one of a number of projects over the next 10 weeks that the Dee Park Youth and Community Centre is urging youngsters to take part in.

Artists and youth workers will be on hand to guide the students, aged 13 to 21, through the Sexpressions workshops.

The scheme, devised by the council's youth and arts officers, aims to drive home the importance of sexual health.

It has been part-funded by the Teenage Pregnancy Strategy and the Arts Council.

Drama, video, graphic art and music are among the ways the message of safe sex and avoiding teenage pregnancies will be targeted at the group.

The finished artworks are due to be put on display at the Hexagon Theatre on 11 July.
