The group needs to raise up to 45,000 to build their own park
Young skateboarders and parents have launched a Kidz on Wheelz campaign to raise up to 45,000 for a skate park in part of west Berkshire.

The skaters, from Burghfield Common, south of Reading, currently ride their boards in the street.

Julie Maidment said she and other parents want the park over concerns for their children's safety.

She said they have the support of local residents, police, schools and councils but that no funding was available.

"The kids are forced to skate out on the streets, very often being told to move on," she said.

"We want our children to be safe and happy and fit. "
