Jewish secondary school to open
Hertfordshire's first Jewish secondary school is set to open next year.

The school will be located on the former Hillside School site in Borehamwood and is due to admit three forms of year seven pupils.

Long-term plans, however, are to increase numbers to 1,000 pupils, including sixth formers.

Hertsmere Jewish High School Trust, which put forward the bid for the new school, is buying the site from Hertfordshire County Council.

The school's organisation committee said they only received one formal objection to the proposal, but stressed the need for local collaboration to ensure there is no adverse impact on other schools.
