Residents complain of rat plague
Rats
Rats are seen on open ground around Dunstable
Residents in Dunstable are complaining of a rat infestation after sightings of large numbers on open ground.

People have told the local council that hundreds of rats have been spotted in a field behind Cusworth Way.

Councillor David McVicar, from South Bedfordshire District Council, says they are making every effort to deal with the problem.

"They are wild rodents that have been displaced from elsewhere and we're trying to deal with the situation.

"We are not waiting round for something to happen. We are monitoring the situation and keeping it under control.

"We believe the problem has improved over the past few weeks."
