Non-alcoholic youth pub to open
Teenager and bottle
Police hope the new pub will create a safe alcohol-free environment
Teenagers in Beds are to get their very own pub.

The new youth pub at Memorial Association Hall in Shefford is designed specifically for teenagers aged 14-17 and will not serve alcohol.

Youngsters will be able to buy non-alcoholic drinks, listen to music, and play on the snooker tables.

Beds Police are involved in the project and say they hope the new pub will create a safe environment and keep more young people off the streets.

Teenagers in Britain indulge in binge drinking and drug-taking more than most of their European counterparts, according to a recent survey by the European School Survey Project on Alcohol and other Drugs.
