A permanent home has been found at Bletchley Park near Milton Keynes for the rebuilt Colossus computer. Colossus was the world's first electronic computer and was used to break German codes during the World War II.
A team led by Tony Sale has rebuilt it over 10 years. Two wartime buildings will be restored to house it.
A spokeswoman said: "New exhibitions will explain to visitors the machine's crucial role."
The restoration project has been under way for 15 years and has now reached the stage where test runs are being made with the machine to show how it worked.
